In 2017, the City of Prague established the Prague Creative Centre in a block of abandoned historic town hall buildings to create a centre for culture and creativity. The centre with more than 2300 square metres of floor area provides facilities for lectures, workshops and conferences as well as for art studios, projects, exhibitions, and shows. The centre is expected to boost Prague’s brand as a cultural and creative leader in the Czech Republic and present Prague as a “smart” city of the 21st century and an important partner for culture and creativity. Another objective is to create new links between the city administration, academia, the non-profit sector, and businesses not just in the creative field.
