Prague is once again one step closer to the construction of the Radlický Radial, which will run mostly underground. Prague city councillors voted on Monday to issue two tenders for the continuation of detailed engineering and geological surveys and hydrogeological and geotechnical monitoring, as well as for the maintenance of the exploratory adit from 2025 to 2030. A major transformation of the Radlica Radial's layout, which will bring traffic largely underground and thus significantly ease the burden on residents living in the area, was approved by councillors this June.
The hydrogeological and geotechnical monitoring, as well as the maintenance of the tunnel, are currently contracted until December 2024.
For the hydrogeological and geotechnical monitoring of the adit between January 2025 and December 2029, the estimated contract value is CZK 7 million excluding VAT. For the maintenance of the adit during the same period, the contract value is CZK 26.9 million excluding VAT.
Radlická radiála is an important road that forms an important part of Prague's radial-circular system in the south-western part of the city. It connects the Prague Ring Road with the City Ring Road as a continuation of the Rozvadovská spojka with an exit on Dobříšská Street in the Zlíchov area. Its realisation is a prerequisite for further development of the south-western city. The most demanding construction object will be the 2,300-metre-long Radlice tunnel.
