Prague to distribute almost 24 million for projects of city districts, 23 projects will be directed to fight climate change

City Council At its meeting on Thursday, the Prague City Council approved the provision of 23 grants to municipal districts for projects related to combating climate change, totalling CZK 23.87 million. The City Hall will implement the individual projects as part of the Climate Plan approved by Prague. The plan includes projects for planting trees and shrubs, revitalising areas, paths, furniture and greenery, as well as projects for water retention and rainwater management.

The capital city approved the Climate Plan of the Capital City of Prague. A prerequisite for meeting its objectives is the cooperation and involvement of other entities, including Prague's municipalities.

Prague councillors specifically approved support for 23 projects of the city districts, the total amount of subsidy support for this year is CZK 23.87 million. Prague 6, for example, will receive CZK 1.5 million for a temporary solution of the areas on Dejvice's Vítězné náměstí, while CZK 3 million will go towards the revitalisation of an inner block in Letňany. Prague 3's project worth CZK 1.3 million for tree planting in Za Žižkovskou Vozovnou Street was also supported, as was a CZK 2 million project for the revitalisation of a park in Věštínská Street in Prague's Radotín.

Last but not least, some less costly projects have also received support, for example Čakovice will receive CZK 950,000 for the revitalisation of part of the bank of the Mratínský Brook and the adjacent open space, Kolovraty will receive CZK 250,000 for the establishment of grassland plantations, Kunratice will receive CZK 550,000 for the revitalisation of trees in the local cemetery and CZK 500,000 will also be used by the Prague 12 municipal district for the landscaping of the memorial site at Branišovská Street.
