Prague to acquire the Orionek site from DPP

The  Prague Council approved the purchase of land and buildings in the Orionka area from the Transport Company of the Capital City of Prague. After approval by the City Council, the city will acquire the former tram and trolleybus depot, which has not served its original purpose since the mid-1950s. Prague plans to build a cultural and community centre Orionka here. The purchase price of the premises, determined by an expert opinion, is CZK 189,821,000 excluding VAT.

The next step following the approval of the purchase agreement by the City Council will be its signing by the DPP and Prague, the implementation of the transaction itself and the change in the land register, i.e. the transfer of the land and buildings of the Orionka complex to the ownership of the City of Prague. Prague. This is a total of 11 plots of land in the cadastral area of Vinohrady in the fenced Orionka complex with a total area of 7,015 m2.

The DPP has had an expert opinion on the market value of the land and buildings of the Orionka complex prepared by an expert office in August 2023. The Prague City Council Property Management Committee approved the acquisition of the Orionka complex in December 2023 for the price determined by the expert opinion. In January this year, the DPP Board of Directors and subsequently the DPP Supervisory Board decided to sell the Orionka Complex to the City of Prague. Last week, the Council of the Capital City of Prague approved the purchase of the OrionPark.
