The capital city of Prague and the street lighting administrator, Technologie hlavního města Prahy, a.s., are calling a public tender for the best bid for the lease of advertising banners on street lamp posts as of 1 January 2020. The main reasons are to create a level playing field, ensure transparency in the selection procedure and to increase revenue for the city which will be spend on maintenance and renewal of street lighting.

The public tender will have two rounds. In the first round, framework agreements will be signed with bidders (advertising agencies) that will qualify to be a party to such agreement. In the second round, the contracting bidders will be able to submit their bids for any of 15 mini-packages in separate partial-tenders. Each package will include a specified set of lamp posts that may carry pole banners, with each set to be rented under a separate lease agreement. Each set will include 150-500 lamp posts.
