The Church of St. Michael the Archangel in the Kinsky Garden in Prague 5, which burned down more than two years ago, may be restored. More than 1.9 million crowns have been raised for this purpose in a public collection. The money will now go towards the restoration of the temple, as approved by Prague city councilors on Monday. The capital city has expressed gratitude to all donors.
The entire proceeds of the public collection amounting to CZK 1,904,454 will go towards restoration of the church. The collection ran for a year. The money from the collection will be spent on furnishing the interior of the new building. The construction is estimated to cost between 30 to 40 million crowns in total. A final price is yet to be determined.
