Prague supports an amendment to a law aimed at improving housing comfort

4/19/2022

Prague City Council agreed to a draft amendment to the Civil Code aimed at strengthening the powers of homeowners and associations of homeowners (SVJ). The draft will subsequently be sent to the Minister for Regional Development, Ivan Bartoš, with a request to incorporate it into the act governing the rules for the provision of short-term accommodation services in apartments, which is being prepared by the Ministry of Regional Development of the Czech Republic.

The purpose of the new legislation is to help SVJs and homeowners to pursue their property rights as regards the use of apartments and common premises of apartments buildings. The aim is to enable SVJs to define reasonable restrictions and conditions for the use of apartments and common premises in their statutes to ensure peace and order in the house.
