The City of Prague and Prague 10 district are to sign a memorandum of cooperation to develop an area along Vršovická street and Bohemians football stadium, with the first project to be a residential building with municipal flats

On Monday, 20 September 2021, the Prague City Council agreed to collaborate with Prague 10 district on the development of an area around Bohemians football stadium. Their memorandum on cooperation includes a comprehensive revitalization of the derelict grounds, refurbishment of the spectator stands at the stadium and the erection of a new residential building called “Bytový dům Vršovická”. A design competition is to be held in the coming weeks, followed by preparations of documentation for the construction permit application. The municipal Prague Development Company has been tasked with preparing and coordinating the project.

The vicinity of the Bohemians stadium in Vršovická Street is one of the largest contiguous areas owned fully by the City Hall. The valuable yet long-neglected plot of land adjacent to the stadium is an ideal location for a municipal housing project complete with services.

In order to take a comprehensive approach to the location, the City Hall has partnered with Prague 10 district to outline further steps together. Specific parameters are defined in an updated version of the Memorandum on Cooperation that the City Council has just approved. The Memorandum also addresses the Bohemians football stadium, where the city envisages a complete refurbishment of the main spectator stand with subsequent overall modernization and potential construction of additional spectator stands.
