Technical services companies THMP and TSK sign a memorandum on cooperation in maintenance of traffic lights in Prague

Prague’s own technical services companies Prague Municipal Technologies (THMP) and Technical Road Administration (TSK) have signed a memorandum on cooperation. They intend to sign an agreement under which THMP would take care of the maintenance and repairs of traffic lights in the streets of Prague as of next year.

According to City Councilor Jan Chabr who is responsible for municipal asset management, the memorandum seeks closer cooperation and coordination between the two companies. “Ideally, they will eventually sign an agreement and start preparations for THMP to take over responsibility for Prague’s traffic lights. This would be another part of the key infrastructure that the city would take care of by its own resources, which is our long-term goal. Should any technical or business limits emerge, we will resolve the situation through other partnerships, primarily with technology producers and suppliers,” he said.

The two companies have been working together on multiple projects since last year. “This is another step towards better coordination between the municipal companies and more effective utilization of their capacity. That is why I am happy that TSK and THMP will collaborate more closely. I believe it will translate into better and faster services,” noted Deputy Mayor Adam Scheinherr who is responsible for the transport agenda as a member of the City Council.
