At its session on Thursday, the Prague City Assembly approved provision of further subsidies from the Accessible Housing Development Fund. The subsidy will make it possible for Prague 3 to refurbish 31 flats and for Prague 22 another 2 flats. The Assembly has also approved a subsidy for a purchase of a temporary housing facility also located in Prague 22.

The bulk of the money (36 million CZK) will be used to finance the purchase. Subsequently, the building will be converted into accessible and protected housing units. Under the terms of the subsidy, 75% of the new units shall be allocated to the City of Prague. Prague 22 will also apply for a subsidy for the refurbishment from the Accessible Housing Development Fund.

The Accessible Housing Development Fund supports new public housing projects and refurbishments of existing flats and houses owned by the City of Prague, nursing homes, residential care homes, and other housing facilities for social purposes.
