Na Bulovce Hospital campus to undergo much needed renovatio

8/25/2018

The Na Bulovce university hospital campus and all the pavilions are planned to undergo renovation for which the City of Prague allocated funds in its 2018 budget. The Na Bulovce Hospital serves as both a health care facility and an educational institution working with health and other faculties.

Last autumn, the staircase in pavilion No. 4 was completely renovated and in spring this year, landscaping works around pavilion No. 7 have been completed and repair works of the road between pavilions No. 3 and 7 have commenced. Further planned renovations include replacement of windows in pavilions No. 1, 3, 9, 10 and 23. In May, the Prague City Assembly approved an intent to renovate the hospital’s waste water treatment plant. Renovation of the surgery pavilion No. 5 is currently waiting for a building permit. Preparations of other necessary investments are in progress.

Na Bulovce Hospital has a rich history from both medical and architectural perspective. The original buildings erected in 1926-1934 were designed by architects Petrů, Nevole, Martínek, Rosůlek and Roštík. The most notable are dermatology pavilion (today’s Pavilion No. 9) designed by Jan Rosůlek and the oncology pavilion by F. X. Nevole. The hospital campus includes rococo chateau Rokoska (today’s pavilion No. 20) that was built around 1770 and neighbouring neo-rococo Vychovatelna building dating from 1910 (today’s pavilion No. 4).

Na Bulovce Hospital annually treats approximately 50 thousand in-patients.
