Prague to renovate city churches

7/11/2018

The City of Prague has allocated funds in its 2018 budget for a project to renovate city churches. Renovation of the Church of the Assumption of the Virgin Mary and St. Charles the Great in the Charles Quarter is in progress, with three crypts being refurbished and documentation being drawn up for repairs of the outer shell following rehabilitation of damp walls. Other churches planned to be restored include The Church of St. Ignatius in Ječná Street in the New Town and the Ss. Cyril and Methodius Cathedral in Prague 2 district, among others. A refurbishment of St. Bartholomew Chapel in the Hodkovičky quarter has been completed recently, including repairs of the floor, drip edge, roofing, and plasters as well as implementation of measures to remove and prevent damp.
