In this year's Adapterra Awards competition, which is partnered by the capital city, two Prague projects will compete for the win. They are the Císařská vinice Sustainable Residential Housing and the ČZU Environmental Studies Pavilion. The expert jury selected them for the finals together with 18 other projects from 77 entries. The Sympathy Award will be announced again and will be decided by the public in a vote on adapterraawards.cz. The Adapterra Awards competition, organised by the Partnership Foundation and Integra Consulting, brings inspiring examples of adaptation to climate change.
Two projects from Prague have reached the final of this year's Adapterra Awards. "Congratulations to both nominated projects. I am very pleased that our University of Prague is able to implement such an ambitious and challenging project that fully meets the requirements of our climate plan. I hope that similar visionary projects working with blue-green infrastructure will increase in the coming years, " says Deputy Mayor of the Capital City of Prague. The City of Prague is a partner of the competition, which is now in its sixth year and is organised by the largest Czech environmental non-profit organisation, Nadace Partnerství, with Integra Consulting as the expert guarantor. The competition is open to municipalities, regions and individuals. There are three main categories. In addition, a special category for industrial projects has been newly introduced this year.
The jury also awards special prizes, including the Prague Prize for the best project in the metropolitan area. Two projects from Prague are in the finals: the Císařská vinice Sustainable Residential Housing and the new Pavilion of Environmental Studies at ČZU, which is a unique combination of modern technology and nature.
Voting for the Sympathy Award is now open at www.adapterraawards.cz and will run until 15 October 2024. The winner will be announced by the Partnership Foundation at a ceremony in Prague on 6 November 2024. Additional financial and in-kind prizes will be awarded in collaboration with partners Nestlé Czech Republic, IVT Heat Pumps, SolSol and Heidelberg Materials.
