The Prague City Council approved the loan of a building and adjacent land in Lahovice to the Z Hnízda organization supporting people with mental disabilities and extended the loan of a house with a garden to Helpless, which operates sheltered housing with assistance for people with mental disabilities.
"Prague will help the operators of these social services with an indefinite loan, the users will only pay for the services associated with the use of these properties. After a year, we will ask the non-profit organisations to report on how they are using the properties," says Adam Zábranský, councillor for property, transparency and legislation.
"I remember exactly one year ago when I met with determined fathers of children who have children with autism spectrum disorder and we discussed how we could work together to provide community care for their little ones. I am therefore extremely pleased that within a short space of time we were able to find suitable premises and also register the service on the service provider scheme. Their organisation, Z Nest, will provide care for people with intellectual disabilities and also help parents to ensure that their children have sufficient support, that they do not have to worry about their future and that they are not afraid to let them out of the nest," explains Alexandra Udženiya, Deputy Mayor for Social Affairs, Housing and Health.
In the same material, the councillors also approved an amendment to the lease agreement with the Bulovka University Hospital, which modifies the subject of the lease and reduces the rent due to a reduction in the leased area, as part of the originally leased real estate was acquired from the city by the state in exchange for the Karlín Barracks. Prague will receive approximately CZK 6.5 million annually for the lease.
