Three projects to improve the environment in Prague proceed to the finals of the national Adapterra Awards competition

8/1/2023

Organized by the Partnership Foundation, the Adapterra Awards is looking for the best examples of climate change adaptations. This enables the best projects to be replicated in other locations across the Czech Republic. The fifth year of the competition saw 115 projects, the highest number in the competition’s history. Three shortlisted projects from Prague will compete in the final round. More details are available at:adaptrerraawards.cz.

The Adapterra Awards competition is organized by the Partnership Foundation in cooperation with Integra Consulting as an expert advisor. Municipalities, regions, organizations, and individuals can enter the competition with buildings, landscaping projects, and innovations that help prepare the Czech countryside and cities for climate change. Most often, they increase resistance to heat waves, droughts or other extreme climatic events, such as gales or floods. Five main awards are to be granted, four in the categories Built-up Areas, Our Home, Free Landscape, and Working Environment, which will be selected by a jury consisting of leading Czech experts in adaptation, and the fifth will result from a public vote.   Three projects on the territory of the capital city have reached the finals this year.
