Prague has just completed a comprehensive refurbishment of a house in Na Dlážděnce Street. The building will provide new residential services for Prague citizens who need specialized care and apartments with assistance. The project is the city’s next step towards affordable social services on its territory whose aim is to create such conditions that residents with disabilities do not have to move to other regions to receive proper care. The refurbishment is expected to cost 27 million crowns including VAT. Around 23 million crowns have been invested to date.

Given the target group, the service is based on individual approach, specialized methods and procedures for working with people with autism, and ensuring permanent access to support and care. The social service should be provided by the organization Hand for Life.

Prague wants to create both assisted and independent housing for people with disabilities who need a higher level of support.

The barrier-free apartment building with a garden is located in a residential area of Prague 8.
