Prague unveils new design of Černý Most bus terminal. The authors are re:architects

2/7/2023

Prague city councilors have approved a concept study for a redesign of the Černý Most transport terminal, authored jointly by re:architects studio together with other experts. The study outlines the most viable long-term transport solution for the terminal in order to transform it into a pleasant, clear, safe, and comfortable place. Terminal will undergo temporary modifications before the actual overhaul.

Approximately 50,000 passengers pass through the Černý Most terminal every day. It is an important transfer point between underground line B, and metropolitan, suburban and long-distance bus lines, complemented with a P+R parking lot with a capacity of 850 cars. The current design of the terminal is obsolete and access to the platforms is complicated.

The Prague City Council has therefore tasked the Prague Institute of Planning and Development (IPR) with finding a supplier of concept study for a comprehensive modernization of the facility. A multidisciplinary team headed by re:architects won the selection procedure.
