The Hlávkův Bridge is due for a major renovation. Surfaces of the roadway and sidewalks are to be replaced and redesigned to make the bridge easier to cross for cars, trams, cyclists, and pedestrians alike. A new bridge structure will be erected in the section crossing the Štvanice water canal and new underpasses will be built on the right bank of the Vltava River. The construction works will start in March 2025 at the earliest as they must be coordinated with repairs of the Libeň Bridge.

On Monday, Prague city councilors approved the architectural and technical coordination of the Hlávkův Bridge renovation project. The next stage will be to draw up a detailed study.

The aim of the project is to improve the overall conditions for all modes of transport and to increase the architectural and aesthetic value of the public space.
