The capital city and the state are finalizing one of the historically largest property swaps. The transaction concerns buildings and land worth more than four billion crowns in total. After two years of negotiations, the City of Prague and the Czech Republic, namely the Office for the Representation of the State in Property Matters (ÚZSVM), have agreed on an exchange of certain buildings and land. Some of the properties concerned include Na Bulovce Hospital, Karlín Barracks and Na Homolce Hospital.
Prague has held talks with the state since 2019 on swapping selected buildings and land to achieve their more effective utilization and ensure better management. The state and the city reached agreement on the key terms of the property swap. The swap should be based on so-called innominate contracts.
