Prague's municipal property online: Prague to launch another property overview tool in April

3/15/2019

Prague City Hall is planning to introduce another tool to support transparent management of municipal property, which is one of the key commitments of Councilor Jan Chabr. A property information portal of Prague City Hall's Property Management Department is to be launched on 1 April 2019, following the success of the Prague Real Estate Portal that carries all offers for the sale or lease of municipal property.

“The Prague Property Portal presents the results of the activities of the Property Management Department in a clear, concise and transparent manner for both public institutions and government bodies but also for the general public. Everyone will have an opportunity to take a look what's cooking in here because we believe the public has the right to such information,”says Prague Councilor Jan Chabr.

“The system is designed with great attention to detail, with data being retrieved from the property registry and posted to the portal only after verification. In the first stage, the website is static with data uploaded manually from the system. However, we are going to evolve the website and we are currently implementing and testing integration with the property registry so that data are generated automatically,”adds Ing. Jan Rak, head of the Property Management Department of Prague City Hall.

The project is implemented by PricewaterhouseCoopers Czech Republic, its public sector consulting department. The Prague Property Portal is one of the initiatives of this team that is focused on creating simple, fast and effective platforms to facilitate communication between public administration bodies and citizens.
