On Wednesday, December 1, 2021, a new P&R parking facility officially opened at Prague’s Černý Most. It is one of the largest car parks of this type in Prague, with a capacity to accommodate up to 886 vehicles, including LPG/CNG-powered cars, electric cars, and special cars for the disabled. In addition, the facility features e-car chargers and bicycle stands. The construction costs reached approximately 500 million crowns and the facility opens to drivers today.
Out of the total number of 886 parking places, 89 are designated for LNG/CNG-powered cars, another 22 for drivers with disabilities, and 18 wider spots are intended for parents with children. Eight parking spaces will provide chargers for electric cars. The parking lot includes also 28 spots for motorcycles. Cyclists will be able to leave their bicycles in a designated locking section with 38 spots.
The new Černý Most III P+R car park is co-financed by the Operational Program Prague – Growth Pole of the Czech Republic (OPP PR) and the European Regional Development Fund. In total, the construction of the parking lot cost nearly 500 million crowns without VAT, with a subsidy from EU funds amounting to 291 million crowns.
