The first project indicating the course of future transformation of Palmovka junction in Prague 8 will include a new pedestrian path connecting Zenklova and Švábky streets. It should open to the public in June next year and its construction will cost CZK 26 million with VAT. The city’s own Prague Development Company (PDS) is responsible for coordination and implementation of the project.
The Palmovka area, which is delimited by Libeň Bridge and the streets Voctářova, Švábky, Sokolovská, and Zenklova is one of Prague’s key development locations, with land owned by the City of Prague, Prague 8 district, and Prague Transport Authority.
The Palmovka project, being prepared and coordinated by PDS in collaboration with these partners, includes the construction of a new city boulevard with rental housing, offices, shops, services, an extensive park, and a children’s playground.
A completely new city district is to be built as part of the Palmovka development project in the coming years. It will include approximately 280 city-owned apartments for rent and about 10,000 m2 of space for office, retail and non-commercial purposes. The project will also include a generous public space - a city boulevard planted with trees, a public park, playgrounds and sports grounds. The project is being prepared and coordinated by Prague Development Company. The project should be implemented in stages over a period of 5 to 10 years, pending necessary permits.
