Prague to get new street furniture

7/12/2021

The Prague City Council has accepted an agreement between the city’s technical service company Technologie hl. m. Prahy (THMP) and Energovod CZ, a.s., the winner of a public tender for new street furniture. The Energovod CZ will deliver new bus and tram stop shelters, railings, and large-volume waste bins, all to be installed by TMHP to replace the existing street furniture that has been provided as a service by a private company since the 1990s. The current contract expired at the end of June and Prague chose not to extend it.

New street furniture is to be delivered to THMP between 2021 and 2023. The total value of the contract plus installation amounts to 689,880,800 CZK without VAT. The contract is to be signed by THMP which had called the public tender and will take care of all engineering tasks and installation of the new street furniture with its own resources. The design of the street furniture was chosen in an international design competition in 2016.
