Major construction project in Smíchov to benefit from wider collaboration. Key owners to partner with the city

In Autumn, the first stage of the Smíchov City construction project commenced on one of Prague’s most prominent brownfields. Simultaneously, the area will see multiple other construction projects, including a refurbishment of Smíchov railway station, construction of a new P+R parking lot and the erection of a new primary school. Key property owners have now established an association which will be joined also by the City of Prague and Prague 5 district for more effective communication and coordination of all the activities. This will make long-term planning easier.

Numerous interactions between property owners, operators of utility grids, investors, and other actors take place in the vast Smíchov brownfield area. All the projects need to be coordinated effectively for successful development of the location and all stakeholders need to communicate to prevent unnecessary delays in preparations. For this purpose, a new association is to be established.

The founding members include Sekyra Group and Česká spořitelna NHQ, which own the largest part of the area. The entry of the city and Prague 5 district will strengthen the position of Prague as regards development, transport, and other public interests in the area, such as the construction of a primary school.
