Preparatory construction works for a new P+R parking for 880 cars commence at Černý Most

6/2/2020

Preparations have started for the construction of Černý Most III, a new multistorey P+R car park. The new building is to replace the existing Černý Most I car park, increasing the capacity to 880 cars. The project is expected to be completed next year. Preparations for the construction are to start in June with the removal of existing road and pavement surfaces, boring probes, ground works and other activities. The construction of the building itself will start in July.

A new three-storey P+R car park with 880 places is to be erected at Prague - Černý Most by the end of next year. It will be located by Chlumecká Street, in place of the existing Černý Most I car park which can accommodate fewer than 300 cars. The Černý Most II P+R car park will remain as is.

The construction is scheduled to start on 1 July 2020 following preparatory works and is expected to be completed by the end of next year. The car park should open in early 2022. Besides a greater capacity, drivers will benefit from an easy access to the underground Line B terminal station – Černý Most and shopping centers in the vicinity. The car park will include 22 places for disabled people and two e-car charging stations.

In the meantime, new car parks are under construction in multiple other locations across Prague. The new Černý Most III P+R car park is co-financed by the Operational Programme Prague – Growth Pole of the Czech Republic and the European Regional Development Fund. The project is expected to cost just under CZK 500 million without VAT.
