The Council of the Capital City of Prague. Prague councillors decided today to select a contractor for the construction of the Nová Palmovka Centre in the form of a design & build project. This building, which has been under construction for many years, will be used by the European Union Space Programme Agency (EUSPA) after completion. The winner of the tender was PORR a.s. with a bid price of approximately CZK 2,161,000,000 excluding VAT. The construction should be completed in 2026.

PORR a.s. won the public tender for the completion of the Nová Palmovka Centre for the use of the European Union Space Programme Agency (EUSPA) with the lowest bid price of CZK 2,161,161,000 excluding VAT.

The Ministry of Finance of the Czech Republic has already expressed interest in the lease of the building in the past for the purpose of providing the building for use by the European Union Space Programme Agency (EUSPA). A future lease agreement was subsequently concluded between the capital city and the Ministry of Finance, which sets out the conditions for the conclusion of a lease agreement under which the building will be handed over for use by the Ministry and sublet to the space agency through it.

Prague will become the seat of the newly established European Union Space Programme Agency (EUSPA) in 2021. This will build on the existing Gallileo Project Operations Centre in Vltavská Street, whose premises are no longer sufficient. The unfinished project of the Prague 8 Town Hall on Palmovka was chosen as a suitable location. The torso of the building will be renovated and equipped for the needs of the space agency. The aim is also to build a space education centre there.
