Night inspection of streetlight operability with Councilor Jan Chabr

Jan Chabr, a member of Prague City Council, together with Tomáš Jílek, the Chairman of the Board at Technologie hlavního města Prahy, a.s. (TMHP), went for a night inspection of street lighting maintenance.

Jan Chabr watched planned repairs of streetlamps along the inner-city motorway where maintenance is only possible at night due to business of the road throughout the day. TMHP carried out the repair works at night from Thursday to Friday upon authorization from the Transport Department of the Prague City Hall.

Six faulty lamps were repaired along the stretch of road between Wilsonova Street to 5. května Street. For safety, the repairmen used a luminescent arrow sign to notify drivers of the works. The team subsequently inspected six teams of field technicians at work.

Councilor Chabr was also able to check the operability of street lighting which remains consistently higher than 99%. This is a significantly higher value than the service level guaranteed by a contract between the maintenance company and the city.

Technologie hlavního města Prahy, a.s. was founded by the City Hall and reports to Councilor Chabr's department. It has been responsible for street lighting maintenance in Prague since June last year.
