The former Bohemia restaurant on the Prague Exhibition Grounds has undergone a comprehensive and extremely demanding renovation preserving its historical character. The building of the former restaurant dating from 1891 that used to serve Pilsner beer is now opening to guests. The venue will also serve for diverse purposes, such as conferences, exhibitions, fashion shows, chamber concerts and other cultural, social, and business events.
Originally built as a restaurant as part of the Jubilee National Exhibition in 1891, Bohemia is one of the oldest buildings on the Exhibition Grounds. It is believed that the first tenant of the restaurant was hotelier and restaurateur Václav Petzold, under whose name the restaurant pavilion is listed in the monuments register. Bohemia continued serving as a restaurant until the second half of the 20th century.
The construction has already been completed including the final inspection, with only minor works remaining to be done on the surrounding landscape and access roads. The total budget of the project amounted to CZK 87.7 million.
