Štvanice island footbridge construction in full swing, first concrete segments already in place

9/14/2022

Work on the construction of the Štvanice Footbridge, which will connect the Karlín and Holešovice districts across the island of the same name, continues on land, above ground and in the water. Pillars and part of the support structure are already seated in the riverbed, while the first finished segments of the future bridge are already being laid at Štvanice Island. The nearly 300-meter footbridge for pedestrians and cyclists, designed in 2018 by the winners of an international architectural competition Petr Tej and Marek Blank, is planned to be completed early next year. The investor is the City of Prague.

The construction of the footbridge is expected to be completed in early 2023.
