Prague City Council agreed to purchase 35 flats from the company Správa zbytkového majetku městské části Praha 3, a.s., which manages Prague 3 district’s property. Prague will buy the flats for CZK 222 million. The proposal is to be discussed by the City Assembly on Thursday.
The purchasing price is based on expert opinions; the flats are in good condition. Some of the flats are empty, most are occupied by tenants with fixed-term contracts. The apartments will be used in accordance with the city’s housing policy. As most of the flats in question are currently occupied by tenants with fixed-term contracts, the lease contracts will be extended under the usual terms, if the tenants adhere to the rules. Prague allocates vacant flats according to its housing policy, focusing on four target groups: senior citizens, key professionals, Prague residents in need, and people with disabilities.
