Plans for Prague’s largest brownfield are close to completion. Construction in Bubny may start within three years

A new residential district for 25,000 inhabitants in Holešovice is one step closer to construction. An amendment to the zoning plan for Prague’s largest brownfield site has reached its final stage today and will proceed to a public consultation. Citizens now have an opportunity to comment on the future shape of the area and once all comments have been dealt with, the change could be approved within a year to “unlock” one of Prague’s largest brownfield sites for development. This is the first major amendment to Prague’s Zoning Plan with city-wide significance that has reached the “final straight” in such a short time. An information container will be placed at the site for people to view the proposal and to provide their feedback.

Bubny-Zátory spanning 110 hectares in Prague’s Holešovice district is one of the largest transformation areas in Prague, which is only slightly smaller than the entire Old Town

The Centre for Architecture and Urban Planning (CAMP) is planing to hold an exhibition on the future of the Bubny-Zátory site in autumn as part of a regular series on Prague’s brownfields.
